A full day in the Bush

A full day on safari is the perfect way to experience the incredible diversity of Serengeti National Park. After a hearty breakfast, whether in your tent or at the lodge, we depart around 7 am in a fully equipped 6×6 Land Cruiser, ready to explore the vast savannah in search of wildlife. With your hat and sunscreen at hand (the midday sun can be intense), you’re all set for an unforgettable day of adventure, discovery, and close encounters with Africa’s iconic animals.

The day is spent exploring, spotting, taking photos and exclaiming at the natural world around you. Many delights are immediately apparent, but it’s the tracking abilities and incredible eyesight of your driver ranger and Kuria spotter (we think they have superhuman powers!) which reveal otherwise hidden wonders. During the migration you may choose to eat a packed lunch in the vehicle, so that we can react instantly to river crossings: otherwise, lunch is served under the shade of an Acacia tree,as you take a break from scanning the horizons.

A highlight is always the moment we head for the water. One of nature’s great occasions is the spate of annual river crossings by migrating wildebeest, with many in easy reach of Serengeti  between July and October. If the migration coincides with your visit, you’re likely to witness this stupendous natural event, but magnificent though it is, the drama of a river crossing is but one experience among many. Everywhere you look when out on a full day game drive, a drama is being played out, with participants ranging from the largest elephant to the smallest beetle. Each is a truly unforgettable encounter
