A scenic and quieter way to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Approaching the mountain from the northern side near the Kenya border, the route offers peaceful trails, beautiful wilderness, and spectacular views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The trek gradually moves through forest, moorland, alpine desert, and finally the Arctic zone before reaching Uhuru Peak at 5,895 meters, the highest point in Africa.

After breakfast, you will drive from Moshi to the Rongai trailhead near the Kenya border. After registration and a final preparation, the trek begins through farmland and beautiful pine forest. After breakfast, you continue through open moorland toward the higher slopes of Kilimanjaro. As you climb, the vegetation becomes more sparse and the views of Mawenzi Peak become increasingly impressive. Today is a shorter but steeper hike toward Mawenzi Tarn, located beneath the dramatic Mawenzi Peak. The slower pace gives your body valuable time to adjust to the increasing altitude. After breakfast, you cross the vast Saddle, the high desert between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks. The landscape becomes increasingly barren as you approach Kibo Camp. You will wake around midnight and begin the most challenging part of the climb. The trail leads slowly upward through steep scree toward Gilman's Point on the crater rim. From there, you continue around the crater rim toward Uhuru Peak (5,895m).
Reach the summit around sunrise and enjoy breathtaking views across Tanzania and the surrounding landscape. After breakfast, begin your final descent through the lush mountain forest toward Marangu Gate. Once you arrive at the gate, complete the park formalities and receive your summit certificate. You will then meet your vehicle and transfer back to Moshi, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure.
